Saiseikai Yokohamashi Tobu Hospital

Hospital and team introduction

Saiseikai Yokohama City Eastern Hospital was established in 2007 as a hospital that provides acute care. It accepts patients who are transported 24 hours a day and is also designated as a "disaster medical base hospital" that supports local medical care in the event of a disaster.

There are ten second-year residents at Eastern Hospital. They are completing a program that emphasizes emergency medical care, the hospital's specialty. They aim to become doctors who can provide initial medical care for all patients. Another primary goal of the training is to develop personnel who can provide medical care as a team. They are gaining experience every day while competing with their peers.

Purpose and impressions of the introduction of the team's lab coats and scrubs

We interviewed doctors in the Saiseikai Yokohamashi Tobu Hospital resident ward about their impressions of Classico's lab coats and scrubs.

Scrubs suitable for residents that change the image of 'luxury = difficult to wash

The main reason for introducing team wear was to create a sense of unity among our classmates. We all came from different universities, and we only had two years of residency, so we made matching scrubs for everyone.

The hospital already had scrubs, but we decided to buy a high-quality pair, so we purchased Classico products. I went to the Marunouchi store to see the products and decided on the DECO series.

The DECO series men's scrubs have stylish decorative tape on the collar and a calm texture of the fabric, which is nice. I had the impression that scrubs were often made of overly shiny fabrics or thin fabrics like mesh. Still, this product's fabric is sturdy and not shiny, which I liked. When I tried it on, I often got compliments on the silhouette, and the nurses said, "It has a beautiful shape." It's a good product that is worth the price.

This is especially true for lab coats, but the more expensive they are, the more likely they are to say, "Don't wash them at home, take them to the dry cleaners" or "Don't wash them too much as they will lose their shape." However, as a resident, I often work in the emergency room, and they inevitably get stained with blood and other things. That's why buying clothes that can't be washed vigorously is hard.

Classico's products are high-end, but they are convenient because you can wash them in the washing machine at home, hang them out to dry, and stay nice and clean. For those of us who are still at the bottom, they are very easy to use.

They feel like casual clothes, unlike the smooth scrubs I've worn until now.

I first learned about Classico at the "White Coat Ceremony" at university. When we move from the 4th to the 5th year and start our hospital training, we are given a white coat from the university, and the brand of white coat is Classico. When the white coat ceremony came around, it was finally time to go to the hospital and interact with patients, so it was a sobering feeling.

I've worn simple lab coats before, but Classico's lab coat had a completely different silhouette. The waist was tight and slim, and I remember thinking it was very stylish and cool.

Scrubs are not cheap, but wearing them motivates me, and I wanted to have a pair. So, I was happy that Nagaoka chose Classico for the scrubs we were getting together.

I've only ever worn scrubs with smooth fabrics, but the texture of Classico's products was something I'd never felt before, and I thought it was new. It's a very comfortable scrub that feels similar to my clothes. The senior doctors praised it and said, "That's nice."
This time, I bought the olive color, which I chose after asking my classmates, "Which color do you think is good?" I'd never bought a darker color before, so I chose it based on my classmates' opinions and liked it. Last year, I made scrubs with my classmates, but this year, they seem to be even happier with them. I chose a better quality item than last time, so I was even happier that I could buy it and that we could all wear matching items.
