Fukagawa Municipal Hospital

Hospital and team introduction

Fukagawa City is located in central Hokkaido. Fukagawa Municipal Hospital, the core hospital in the region, plays many roles, including being a designated cancer treatment cooperation hospital and providing emergency, disaster, and remote area medical care.

The nursing department's philosophy is "providing warm and kind care with heart," and many nurses support patients daily. They provide medical care as a team, emphasizing cooperation with other professionals such as doctors and physical therapists.

Purpose and impressions of introducing team lab coats and scrubs

"Something that gives you confidence as a professional nurse"

Michiko Sasaki, Director of Nursing, Fukagawa Municipal Hospital

This time, the reason for introducing the uniforms is primarily related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In challenging situations, the nurses treat patients sincerely and perfect their medical care. There was also a sense of exhaustion and stagnation, so I wondered if there was something I could do as a nursing manager to break through that.

Our hospital originally had a one-piece uniform, and I had always wanted to change it to a pants style that was easy to move in. Therefore, I decided to get new uniforms to raise motivation. I was looking for a good product when I received a pamphlet from Classico. I looked at other manufacturers' products, but Classico's scrubs caught my eye. It was love at first sight.

I wanted to wear something that would give me confidence as a professional nurse, and I also wanted something that would provide a sense of unity and unity as a team. In addition, I was looking for an innovative design and a sophisticated atmosphere, and I felt that the moment I saw this scrub.

I was looking forward to discussing the introduction, and the person in charge contacted me promptly and said, "I would like to come and explain it to you in person. After seeing the product and listening to the presentation, I decided there and then, "I will choose Classico."

Deciding on uniforms for the entire team is a tremendous job. I had to choose something high-quality carefully. When I heard about Classico's company's origins and product development history, I was impressed that they are close to medical workers and produce products that meet actual on-site needs.

As a nursing manager, I wanted to motivate the staff (including myself) by having them wear something they were satisfied with. I also wanted to create a sense of unity in the team. The history of Clasico's founding and product development echoed my thoughts.

In addition to adopted product, they brought many other types, and I could try on many of them, which was a significant factor. In addition to falling in love with the scrubs at first sight, the presentation drew me in even more.

The staff was pleased, making them want to work harder. When recruiting participants for a case study photo shoot, many said,  "I want to participate too!" and "I want to have my picture taken!" So I'm happy we introduced it.

Patients have said, "You're a good nurse (in your uniform)!" I was surprised that even family members who visited and contractors who use the hospital said things like, "It's nice" and "I like your new uniform." We could fully achieve our goals of raising motivation and creating a sense of unity, and the effects were even more pleasing than we had imagined.

"I'm happy I look neat and sleek in the mirror"

Nurse Nishimura Suzuka, same hospital

Nurses' uniforms need to be easy to move in. Since I often have to squat, it's easier to wear something stretchy. These scrubs don't feel tight around the shoulders even when I stretch my arms, and they fit my body just right, so they're very easy to move in.

Also, the shape of the pants is adorable. The design fits my body type well and makes me look sleek. The top is long and covers my butt, so it makes me look slim.

The one-piece clothes I used to wear didn't fit me very well, and they showed my body shape. But this covers everything, so I'm happy I look neat in the mirror.

"The sleeve line is adorable, and the patients love it"

Nurse Suga Marie, the same hospital

I was thrilled to hear that I could wear scrubs in collaboration with Gelato Pique. My seniors were also excited, saying, "It's a collaboration with Gelato Pique!"

The lines on the sleeves and the "GELATO PIQUE" embroidery are charming, and I think they are different from other scrubs. Every time I see them, I feel good. The fabric of the slits changes to navy blue, which is a nice detail, too. Patients also say, "You're wearing a nice uniform" and "The lines on the sleeves are nice."

Of course, they are very comfortable to wear. They are smooth and silky to the touch, so they feel great to wear.

"I could wear them comfortably even though I work and sweat a lot"

Ayaka Ishizawa, Physiotherapist at the same hospital

I move my whole body a lot at work, so scrubs' stretchiness is essential. The DECO series scrubs are made of a jersey-like fabric, making them very easy to move in. I sweat a lot as I move, but they are silky smooth and breathable.

I like the shape; the top and pants make my body lines look beautiful and slender. I like designs that make me look slim, so I'm thrilled.
