Originally established for Japan National Railways employees, it transitioned to a general hospital in 1987, providing exceptional medical care rooted in the local community.

"We are currently in a transitional period, renovating our wards and strengthening acute care to deepen regional cooperation. Our goal is to become a hospital trusted by patients, which required a shift in mindset. As part of this initiative, we decided to introduce new lab coats for all doctors to wear."
"As a corporate hospital of JR East, a railway company, we face certain restrictions on apparel. Despite this, we wanted to choose something everyone would want to wear, making the selection process challenging. I led the project, but the staff worked incredibly hard, conducting multiple surveys to ensure we selected a lab coat everyone could agree on.
When you suggest everyone wear the same thing, there is inevitably some resistance. Naturally, people value their freedom and want to wear what they bought themselves. However, since the introduction, the response has been very positive. It’s not just the wearers; patients and staff have also complimented us. I believe the quality of this lab coat outweighed the desire for individual choice."
