About the Institution

Established in 2007, Saiseikai Yokohamashi Tobu Hospital provides acute care, accepting patient transports 24 hours a day. It is also designated as a disaster medical base hospital to support local medical care in the event of a disaster.

There are ten second-year residents at Eastern Hospital. They are completing a program that emphasizes emergency medical care, the hospital's specialty, and aims to develop doctors who can provide initial medical care for all patients. Another primary training goal is to develop professionals who can provide medical care as a team. They gain experience every day while working alongside their peers.

A Conversation with Resident, Dr. Nagaoka Jimei

We interviewed doctors in the Saiseikai Yokohamashi Tobu Hospital resident ward about their impressions of Classico's lab coats and scrubs.

The main reason we introduced team wear was to create a sense of unity among our classmates. We all came from different universities, and with only two years of residency, we decided to get matching scrubs for everyone.

The hospital provided scrubs, but we decided to purchase a high-quality set for ourselves and chose Classico. I went to the Marunouchi store to see the products and decided on the Deco series.

 The men's Deco scrubs feature stylish Decorative tape on the collar and a pleasant, subtle fabric texture. I used to think scrubs were often made of overly shiny or thin, mesh-like fabrics. I like that this product's fabric is sturdy and not shiny.

 When I wear it, I often get compliments on the silhouette. The nurses have told me, "It has a beautiful shape." It's a quality product that is well worth the price.

This is especially true for lab coats. The more expensive they are, the more likely they come with warnings like "dry-clean only" or "frequent washing will cause it to lose its shape." However, as a resident, I often work in the emergency room, and my uniform inevitably gets stained with blood and other substances. That's why it's difficult to buy clothes that can't be washed thoroughly.

Classico's products are premium, but they are convenient because you can machine wash them at home, hang them to dry, and they stay looking crisp and clean. For those of us still in our residency, they are very easy to use.

A Conversation with Resident, Dr. Akari Miura

I first learned about Classico at my university's white coat ceremony. When we moved from our fourth to our fifth year to start our hospital training, the university gave us Classico white coats. The white coat ceremony was a sobering moment, as it signified it was finally time to go to the hospital and interact with patients.

 I've worn simple lab coats before, but Classico's lab coat had a completely different silhouette. The waist was fitted and slim, and I remember thinking it was very stylish and cool.

 These scrubs aren't inexpensive, but wearing them is motivating, and I wanted to have a pair. So, I was happy that Dr. Nagaoka chose Classico for the scrubs we were getting together.

I had only ever worn scrubs with smooth fabrics, so the texture of Classico's products was new and unique. They're very comfortable and feel more like my regular clothes. The senior doctors praised them, saying they looked nice.

 This time, I bought the olive color after asking my classmates for their opinions. I'd never bought a darker color before, so I chose it based on their feedback and liked it. My classmates and I also got matching scrubs last year, but everyone seems even happier this year. We chose a higher-quality item this time, so I was glad we could all get a matching set that we love.
