Koyama Memorial Hospital
Hospital and team introduction
Located in the southeastern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, Kashima City is famous for the Kashima Shrine. Koyama Memorial Hospital is a designated secondary emergency hospital. Although it is a medium-sized hospital with 224 beds, it is at the forefront of regional medical care.
The nursing department at Koyama Memorial Hospital is an environment where various members gather, from new staff and staff with children to veterans. We value the spirit of mutual support"" that goes beyond departments and occupations. Even though they are busy as staff at an acute care hospital, the team never fails to communicate with each other.
The purpose and impressions of the introduction of the team's lab coats and scrubs
We interviewed them about their impressions of Classico's white coats and scrubs.

"We want to be close to patients with scrubs that give a soft impression"

I came across Gelato Pique & Classico's lab coats at an academic conference. They felt so good on the skin that Classico sent me a sample of the scrubs. The best thing about the uniforms was that they left a good impression on nurses, with comments such as "it's comfortable to wear" and "it has a soft impression," so we introduced them. There are many variations, so we unified the color to lavender and let each person choose the type of product that they liked. We also use them privately and they always soothe us.
When we first introduced them, the softness of the uniforms was very well received by staff and patients. However, the fabric did not match the environment unique to acute care, so we consulted with Classico, and after many improvements to the fabric, we arrived at the current uniform. We are very grateful for their enthusiastic response.
And this is our second purchase. The main reason we continued using Classico products is the soft impression. Nurses are fundamentally close to patients.
There are many other professions working besides nurses, so if they all wore different scrubs like before, it would be difficult for patients to tell which person was a nurse.
But when we changed to these scrubs and unified them, many patients said, "It's really nice," and "It has a soft atmosphere." I think it gave them a soft impression and made nurses easier to talk to.
That's why we decided to continue Classico uniforms, which give a soft impression, to be closer to the patients.
Our hospital is an acute care hospital. We are busy with safety and infection control, so we wanted to improve the atmosphere and relieve staff fatigue by wearing scrubs that look and feel good.
There are many variations, so we decided to use lavender as the only color. It was also good that each staff member could choose the product they liked. Everyone said "I like it!" when they saw the sample.
We provide 4 to 6 Classico products per person. In addition to the lavender "Pattern Pullover Scrub," we also have charcoal gray "Pleated Scrub Tops" for the Health Examination Center and charcoal gray "PACK Scrubs" for the operating room, and we introduce a variety of products depending on the department.
For the first time, we had a heart logo on the sleeve. The design is based on the hospital's philosophy of "One Heart" and "United in Spirit." I like how it matches the lavender color of the fabric, and the embroidery makes us aware that we are staff here.
