Classico Tailor: No Compromises in Fabric and Tailoring
Fabric Development Starts with Listening
The Classico Tailor: A Lab Coat Like No Other

The original Classico Tailor was made from 100% cotton — a direct response to what healthcare professionals had asked for.
Its soft hand and all-day comfort were well received, yet customers also called for greater durability and freedom of movement. That feedback opened a dialogue with our fabric manufacturers.
The challenge was thread density. A lower count produces a softer, more comfortable fabric but compromises durability. A higher count adds structure and resilience, yet risks stiffness and creasing. After more than 15 rounds of prototyping, Classico found the balance: a cotton-blend fabric that delivers durability, stretch, and the refined quality the brand is known for.
The cotton fibers receive a specialized treatment that resists shrinkage and creasing after washing, while enhancing the fabric's strength, sheen, and softness. An antibacterial finish further inhibits bacterial growth — a standard that matters in clinical environments where infection control is paramount.
Every construction detail received the same care. Working closely with our production facilities, Classico made precise pattern adjustments to ensure the garment holds its three-dimensional silhouette through repeated laundering, supporting both the performance demands and the professional appearance expected in medical settings.
What Classico Never Changes
Fabric development at Classico is a process of evolution — but not everything evolves. Two principles remain constant: tailoring and a classical aesthetic. Tailoring — the craft of constructing garments in three dimensions to follow the body — is the technical foundation that allows the Classico Tailor to be worn with confidence by anyone, regardless of gender or age.
No matter how the fabric improves, customers should feel exactly the same garment they have always known. That continuity is by design. Across every renewal, the silhouette, the structure, and the sense of wearing the same Classico Tailor are carefully preserved.
Since its original release, the Classico Tailor has been refined through multiple generations — yet the comfort and the timeless styling that define it have remained unchanged. Today it stands as the series that represents Classico, trusted by healthcare professionals across Japan. The reviews that follow are from those who wear it every day.

Designed in Japan. Built for the demands of clinical practice.
