Hospital Introduction

Keiyu Hospital has a long history and tradition. It opened in 1934 in Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, as a police occupational hospital and a core hospital in the area.
With three themes in mind - amenity, hospitality, and internationality - the hospital aims to be equipped with cutting-edge medical equipment in a comfortable hospital environment and to be able to accommodate important people and foreigners from Japan and overseas.
Keiyu Hospital is not just a hospital; it's a beacon of advanced medical care. Designated as a Kanagawa DMAT and Kanagawa Prefecture Cancer Treatment Cooperation Hospital, they are committed to providing the best care possible.

Purpose and thoughts on introducing lab coats and scrubs

We interviewed Noriko Mifune, Head of Nursing (at the time of introduction), about her thoughts on the Classico uniform.

When it was time to update our uniforms, we conducted a thorough selection process. We tried on uniforms from three companies and conducted a questionnaire survey. Five years ago, I met Gelato Pique & Classico's uniforms and fell in love at first sight. This time, I made sure to include them as a candidate for selection.

We selected the uniforms from three companies by trying them on and conducting a questionnaire survey. After considering the design, cleaning issues, and durability, we decided on Gelato Pique & Classico's scrubs.

The first reason for selecting them was the quality of the fabric. For nurses, uniforms are worn for long periods of time, so they must be comfortable for the body, easy to move in, and not restrictive. In addition, we believe that wearing stylish clothes will make us feel more fulfilled. In this regard, Gelato Pique & Classico's scrubs are very comfortable and have a classy and cute design.

In addition, while the previous uniforms were limited to one color, this time, we have adopted two designs and three colors. These are not color-coded according to position or role but can be freely chosen by each individual. Each staff member has a different favorite color, and we thought it would be good to have time to enjoy fashion at work.

When making the final decision, we were concerned that the price was slightly higher than other companies' products. However, as a hospital, we wanted everyone to wear high-quality clothing, so we chose this brand.

What I personally like about it is that it is elegant yet cute and makes the nurse look dignified as a medical professional. The silhouette is very beautiful, and the front zipper is functional, opening and closing smoothly without getting caught in the fabric. The design is wonderful. That's all I can say.

The fabric is also completely different from the previous one. It is easy to move around in and not see-through. With the uniform earlier, it was challenging to take a nap, and I couldn't get rid of my fatigue, but this fabric is stretchy and soft, so my body doesn't get tired. The pants also have elastic and a drawstring, so they fit well and are comfortable.

For me, a uniform helps me reset my mind for work when I change into it and helps me not forget my aspirations and respect for the patients. The ideal uniform for a nurse is gentle, clean, fits well, and has a beautiful silhouette. It is something that will soothe and energize patients. In that sense, I am thrilled with the Gelato Pique & Classico uniforms. This introduction will increase staff motivation, and there will also be benefits for nursing students adopting them. As for me, I fell in love with these white coats at first sight, and I waited for the implementation for five years, so I look forward to wearing them every day.
